ARCHIVE SERIES 01 / COLLECTION ASSESSMENT

A bespoke plan for your unique collection.

A family collection can span decades, generations and both sides of a family - photographs, albums, negatives, slides, digital files, memorabilia and inherited material gathered over a lifetime, sometimes several.

When everything has accumulated in different places, it becomes difficult to see the collection as a whole, let alone know what deserves attention first.

I designed the Collection Assessment to provide that wider view - to understand what you have, identify what matters most, and establish a clear direction for what comes next.

WHY WE BEGIN HERE

The first step is understanding the collection.

The Collection Assessment takes place in your home, where we set aside dedicated time to review the collection together — looking at what you have, where it is held, what matters most and what may need attention first.

There is no need to count everything, organise anything beforehand or decide which services you need. The purpose of the Assessment is to step back and understand the collection before making those decisions.

01

Understand the collection

We look at the materials you have, their condition, where they are kept, and the stories and context they hold.

02

Clarify priorities

We identify what matters most, what needs attention now, and what can wait — aligned with your goals, values and time.

03

Receive a clear plan

You receive a considered roadmap for organising, digitising, preserving and sharing your collection.

Your Assessment includes a personalised overview of your collection and a customised roadmap.

It is the first step towards preserving what matters — and ensuring the photographs, stories and context you care about can be understood and shared by those who come next.

01 / YOUR ROADMAP

A plan you can follow.

For some families, the Collection Assessment provides exactly what they need: professional clarity, a considered roadmap and confidence about what to do next. Additional support sessions can always be booked as needed.

02 / ONGOING SUPPORT

Or, I can lead the project.

If you would rather not manage the collection yourself, I can take the lead on organising, curation, digitisation and preservation — bringing you into the process where your knowledge, stories and decisions matter.

You decide how involved you want to be. I make sure the project keeps moving.
