Professional photo, slide and negative digitisation in Melbourne

Whether you are preserving your own lifetime of photographs, helping a parent with a significant collection, or finally doing something with boxes of prints, slides, negatives and albums that have been waiting for years, knowing where to begin can feel completely overwhelming.

Digitisation is a powerful way to preserve a family collection, but the way it is done matters.

At Your Photo Legacy, digitisation is treated as part of the family archive - not as a standalone scanning job. That means careful handling, professional capture, meaningful organisation and close attention to the names, dates and stories that give the photographs their value.

MORE THAN SCANNING

Digitised · Organised · Labelled · Connected

THE YPL DIFFERENCE
NOT JUST DIGITISED

Organised, labelled and connected.

You don't simply receive a folder full of scans.

You receive an organised digital collection, with meaningful filenames, accurate dates where known or supplied, and a clear structure that corresponds with the way your physical material is labelled and rehoused.

The physical and digital collections remain connected - making your photographs easier to find, understand, preserve and pass on.

ARCHIVE SERIES 03 / BEHIND THE SCAN

More than a decade of professional digitisation experience.

I've spent more than a decade working with photographic collections at the State Library of Victoria and the British Library, digitising and handling a wide range of material including glass plate negatives, lantern slides, albums, loose photographs and other historically significant photographic formats.

That experience shaped the way I work today: with precision, respect for the original material and a strong understanding of how image quality, file organisation and preservation fit together.

Digitisation sits at the intersection of so much of what I love: careful handling, photographic quality, family history and helping people bring meaningful collections back into view.
